Egyptian Mau Breed Summit

The CFA Board of Directors has granted permission for a Breed Summit at the 2015
GEMS show. They have approved the following special breed awards: In the 5 Allbreed
rings, all Egyptian Mau classes (Kittens, Championship and Premiership) will be judged
together. Judges will hang each class as usual and award top three in each category.
They will then award their "Best of the Best" regardless of class as follows:
  • 0-14 Egyptian Mau entries: Top three Best of the Best
  • 15-25 Egyptian Mau entries: Top four Best of the Best
  • 26 Egyptian Mau entries or more: Top five Best of the Best
    At the end of the show, top three in each category will be awarded based on class judging.
    And, over all BEST Egyptian Mau will be awarded based on Best of the Best scoring.


    • Entries: Entries must be typed or printed legibly, signed and submitted on an official CFA entry form or acceptable copy. Email entries must include all information normally on the Official entry form. Entries from the online entry form are equivalent to Official entry forms. Make checks payable to GEMS. Sorry, NO PAYPAL accepted. Cash is required if paying the day of the show at the door. Return check fee is $35. Email and faxed entries will be accepted at no additional fees. No refunds for failure to bench. All entry fees include CFA surcharges. * no fee for handicapped; EOR with single entry must purchase an extra 1/2 cage. Use of security cage with a single entry will require the purchase of an extra 1/2 cage space. It is the Exhibitors responsibility to check entry confirmation and notify entry clerk of any errors.
    Hours: Check-In; 7:30 – 8 am. Judging hours; 8:30 am - 5 pm. Doors open to the public; 9 am - 4 pm.
    Show Hall: Richmond Raceway Complex, Colonial Bldg. 600 East Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23222. The show hall is both heated and air-conditioned. This is a Non-Smoking facility. Parking is free for exhibitors and spectators.
    Hotel Info: Clarion Hotel Richmond Central 3207 N Blvd. Richmond, VA 23230. Ph: 804-359-9441. $59 per room, per night with Pet fee waived. Please Mention Cat Show (GEMS). Block is limited so reserve quickly. Use 3207 Hermitage Rd. Richmond, VA for GPS directions.
    Supplies: Clay litter will be provided. Please bring your own litter pans, cat food, and water/food dishes.
    Health: This is a non-vetted show. GEMS strongly recommends testing for FeLV/FIV. Cats must be free of fungus, fleas, ear/body mites and contagious diseases. Exhibitors in violation will be told to leave the show hall.
    General: CFA Show rules will be strictly enforced. Copy of rules may be found at www.cfa.org/Publications/CFAManuals.aspx All cats/kittens must have all claws clipped prior to benching. Declawed cats are not eligible for competition. All entries in Championship (except Novice), Premiership (except Novice), registered Kittens, recorded Household Pets, and registered cats competing as Household Pets with an Household Pet color class prefix will be scored for CFA awards. Owners of novices can contact the entry clerk for a temporary registration number.
    Benching: All Egyptian Mau entries will be benched together. All other benching will be by exhibitor and no changes in assignment will be allowed without permission of the Show Manager. Cages are 22"W x 22"H x 22"D. Benching request made at the time of entry will be honored whenever possible.
