Kittens & Kittens For Sale: “Kitten For Sale” cages will be available only if you have an entry in the show. Please keep in mind the show rule which limits two kittens per single cage. No kitten under 4 months of age is permitted in the show hall. No kittens may be kept in carriers under the cage or in your car. All kittens being sold at this show must be sold from a Sales Cage which you purchased for that purpose, the fees are listed above. You must have proof of age for all kittens being sold; i.e., a CFA Blue Slip & a Rabies certificate. A Rabies certificate is required by Virginia state law for all kittens that are 4 months of age. Health: All cats and kittens entered or present in the show hall should be inoculated against feline enteritis, feline rhinotracheitis, calici viruses, and rabies (required by Virginia state law - bring proof of vaccination), and tested negative for FeLV. All cats should be free from fleas, fungus, or other health problems. Any cat suspected being ill, of having fleas, etc., is subject to removal from the show hall in accordance with CFA show rules. All claws must be clipped prior to benching. General: CFA rules will be strictly enforced. A copy of the Show Rules may be obtained for $7 from CFA by ordering online at http://cfa.org/documents/forms/11-12showrules.pdf. There is a free download at http://cfa.org/documents/forms/11-12showrules.pdf. All Championship, Premiership, and registered Kitten entries will be scored for CFA National and Regional awards. Registration numbers must be printed in the catalog. It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to check entry confirmation and notify entry clerk of any errors. Breed Showcase: Breed Showcase presentations will be on Saturday and Sunday. If you are able to bring a cat for the presentation, please contact our coordinator, Gina and Ernie Emrich, via email at javacats@gmail.com. Supplies and Miscellaneous: Litter will be provided at the show hall. You should bring litter boxes, food, bowls, and any other supplies needed by your feline friend. Is This Your First show? Please indicate on your entries! We will try to bench you with someone experienced. Visit www.cfanewbee.org for information on showing a cat in CFA. Agility Entry: All are welcome to enter agility cats. It is preferred that you pre-enter you agility cat using the form on the CFA Agility web site. But, entries will also be accepted at the show. If the cat is not entered in the show and you pre-enter you will get one cage (single opening) with the entry. If you are not pre-entering please remember to order the extra cage to bench your agility cat. Agility cats must be benched per agility rules. If cat IS entered in the show, it is an additional $10 to participate in agility with the cat and an extra opening is not provided. If you have another entry in the show and want to enter agility the fee is $35 ($25 for the single cage and $10 for the entry). If you do not have an entry in the show and would like to enter Agility only, then the entry fee is $40. Check-In and Judging: Check-in on Friday is from 5-6 pm and Saturday from 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. at the show hall. Judging will start at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and 9:00 a.m. Sunday. Advertised show hours are 9:00 - 5:00 Saturday and 9:00 - 4:00 Sunday. No entries, with the exception of kittens, may leave the show hall before the end of the advertised show hours without the permission of the Show Manager. Single cage size is 22" x 22" x 22". National Capital reserves the right to substitute judges in case of emergency. Show Hotel: The Holiday Inn Select, Chantilly-Dulles Expo Center is located within walking distance of the show hall. National Capital has secured a room rate of $112 singe/double. The hotel provides transportation to and from Dulles International Airport (IAD). To make a reservation and be included in the National Capital Block, please call 703-815-6060 and please identify yourself as being with “National Capital Cat Show” or Block Code “Y22” to ensure you receive the special group rates. The room block will be held only until August 11, 2011. Pet fee of $150 is waived only for rooms booked in the National Capital block. Individual room arrangements outside this block may result in a pet fee charged to the room. Each guest checking in with an animal will be required to sign a damage waiver, allowing the hotel to charge a valid credit card for any damage done to hotel property. Fly-Ins: Dulles International Airport (IAD) is a 15-20 minute drive. Reagan National Airport (DCA) is a 45-60 minute drive. Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI) is about 1 1/2-2 hours away. Show Hall: The Dulles Expo Center 4320 Chantilly Shopping Center, Chantilly, VA 20153 (Rt. 28 at Willard Road). The phone number is 703-378-0910. The show hall is air conditioned and wheelchair accessible. People food is provided and there is plenty of free parking. This is a non-smoking facility. The show will be in the SOUTH HALL -- a different building from last year but on the same property, to the right and behind the hotel when facing it rather than directly behind. Junior Showmanship Ring: Junior Showmanship Ring will be on Saturday-only. Junior Showmanship is for youngsters 8 - 15 years old who want to learn about cat care and showing. For more information, visit http://kids.cfa.org/js.html. Breed Booths: Breed Booths are welcomed and encouraged. If you would like to bring a breed booth to showcase your breed, please contact our booth coordinator, Gina and Ernie Emrich, via email at javacats@gmail.com. Each breed will be provided up to two double cage spaces (must be reserved in advance) free of charge to set up your booth. 8-foot tables may be rented for a fee of $50 (skirted) or $26 (unskirted). One booth/display per breed - must be authorized by the Breed Council Secretary. If you are bringing a booth to showcase your breed, please have your Breed Council Secretary contact our booth coordinators. You must indicate “Breed Booth” on the entry form for appropriate benching. Also indicate the number of spaces – one or two – and whether you will rent a table.
