Entry Info: No Additional fee to enter online and no Substitution Fees. Entries must be typed or printed clearly on an official CFA entry form or sent online/fax; no phone entries accepted. It is up to the exhibitors to confirm online/fax entries with the entry clerk. Neither the club nor the entry clerk will be responsible for entries lost due to transmission errors. It is the Exhibitors responsibility to check entry confirmation and notify entry clerk of any errors. All entries except fax/online entries must be accompanied by full entry fee payment. All fax/online entries MUST be paid in full within 10 days of receipt or prior to the start of the show, whichever is first. A late fee of $25 will be charged for failure to pay within the 10 day show rule. Make check payable to Pawprints in the Sand; no postdated checks will be accepted. Returned check fee is $50. Entries paid at door must be in CASH.
Scoring: All entries in Championship (except Novice), Premiership (except Novice), registered Kittens, recorded Household Pets, and registered cats competing as Household Pets with an Household Pet color class prefix will be scored for CFA awards. Owners of novices can contact the entry clerk for a temporary registration number. Kittens may be entered without registration numbers, but will not be scored for CFA awards if a number is not provided at show time. Kittens without a registration number or TRN will not be included in the count. CFA Show rules will be strictly enforced. Copy of rules may be obtained for $7 from CFA, 260 E. Main St. Alliance, OH 44601.
Show Hours: Check-in will be Saturday from 7:45 to 8:45 am. Advertised show hours are from 9 am - 4 pm.
Benching: Limit one bench and/or agent request per exhibitor; we will try to accommodate all reasonable benching requests. Sales cage must accompany a paid entry. Use of ANY size security cage with odd numbered entries requires the purchase of an extra 1/2 cage space.
Show Hall: Knights of Columbus Hall, 12742 Nettles Dr. Newport News, VA 23606 Phone: 757-930-0491. No watchman will be provided after show hours. The show hall is heated, air conditioned, and handicapped accessible. It is a non-smoking hall. Smoking is allowed outside the show hall only. Please help us keep this terrific hall by collecting your trash and litter before you leave.
Show Hotel: We do not have an official show Hotel; the following pet friendly hotels are within 5 miles of the show Hall. Supplies: Litter will be provided. Please bring your own litter pans. Single cage size is 22” x 22” x 22”. Please bring cage curtains, litter pan and rug. If this is your first show, please let us know and we will bench you next to an experienced exhibitor.
Health: No veterinarian inspection prior to benching will be required. IIt is strongly advised that all cats or kittens entered or present in the show hall be inoculated before entry by a licensed veterinarian against feline panleukopenia (formerly known as feline distemper or feline infectious enteritis), feline rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus and rabies. It is also strongly recommended that cats and kittens be tested and found negative for FeLV before entry. All cats/kittens must have all claws clipped prior to benching. Declawed cats are not eligible for competition.
